My mama told me when I was young,
To guard my tongue, don’t let it run.
For words can hurt, and words can heal,
So choose your words with care, my child.
One day I was at school,
I’ll tell you when a bully came to me and fell.
He said, “You’re dumb, you’re ugly too,
I’m better than you, that’s the truth!”
I wanted to say something mean,
To make him feel the way I did,
I mean. But then I thought of what my mama said, T
o guard my tongue, don’t let it run ahead.
So I took a deep breath, and smiled brightly,
And said, “I’m sorry, but I’m not going to fight.
I don’t need to put you down,
To make myself feel better, my friend.”
The bully looked at me in surprise,
And then he turned and walked away.
I guess he didn’t know what to say.
I’m glad I guarded my words that day,
For I know that they can hurt or heal.
So I’ll choose my words with care,
And speak with love, everywhere.

A CALL TO SALVATION:
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Romans 10:9-10 9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.
John 3:5-6 5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7
