Bible Quiz: Slander

Slander:   verb slan·der /ˈslandər/  make or repeat false and/or true damaging statements about someone spoken or written.  Example: courts of law only allow information as evidence about the defendant or plaintiff that is relevant to the case and decision-making.

Slander is very dangerous and it is something we should avoid.  If you have ever slandered anyone, you should repent and never do it again.  Matthew 12:36 KJV  “But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.”

It does not matter if it is true. If God forgives them, then you have no right to condemn them.  Slander goes against the second command of Jesus.  Love each other as you love yourself.  John 13:34 KJV  “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.”
