Why Astral Projection is Forbidden and Illegal in the Spritual Ream: Understanding God’s Will and Spiritual Dangers
Astral projection is the belief that a person’s soul can leave their body and travel to different places. Many people think this sounds exciting, but it is important to understand that astral projection is against God’s will.
The Bible tells us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20 KJV), and we should not separate our spirit from our body. We should glorify God in physical and spirit.
Astral projection or Out of Body Experience done intentional is a misuse of powers. It is tresspassing and breaking spiritual laws. God takes this offense seriously and Satan will take you to trial to gain your soul legally. Some people have near death, not intentional, out of body experiences which are different and not covered in this writing.
When we try to astral project, we open ourselves to spiritual dangers. The Bible warns against trying to contact the spiritual realm in ways God did not intend. In Deuteronomy 18:10-12 KJV, God tells His people not to practice witchcraft or sorcery.
Deuteronomy 18:10 KJV “There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,”
Astral projection is similar to these forbidden practices because it tries to gain spiritual knowledge or power outside of God’s protection or permission.
A powerful story in the Bible that shows the dangers of trying to reach beyond what God allows is the story of King Saul and the Witch of Endor (1 Samuel 28:7-20). Saul was desperate to hear from God. God was not answering him. He went to a witch to contact a familar spirit, the spirit of the prophet Samuel.
Saul often disobeyed God’s commands. God had commited to making David King. The next day Saul died, and his three sons, and his armourbearer, and all his men together.
Leviticus 19:31 KJV “Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God.”
God wants us to trust Him with our lives and futures. He gives us guidance through prayer, His Word, and the Holy Spirit. Romans 12:2 tells us ““And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
Proverbs 3: 5-6 KJV 5Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Holy meditation is about focusing on God and His Word, not exploring the spirit world on our own. When we meditate on God’s Word, we find peace and understanding. Let us choose to stay close to God and avoid practices like astral projection that lead us away from Him.
Reflective Questions:
- Why is it important to stay within God’s boundaries?
- How can we seek spiritual knowledge in a God-honoring way?
- What can we learn from King Saul’s mistake?

A CALL TO SALVATION:
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Romans 10:9-10 9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.
John 3:5-6 5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7
Matthew 28:19 KJV “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son (Jesus), and of the Holy Ghost:”
