Step One.  Start in the order of: the Gospel of John, Luke, Mark and Matthew for understanding.

The instructions are designed for accessibility and ensures the learner is not overwhelmed and confused. Post your questions in the comment section and the author will answer you. Please share your experiences and opinions.

Step Two.  Each lesson takes about 35 minutes to complete: 20 min to study the lesson and take the quiz. 15 minutes to read the Bible resource

It is recommended to read the entire post and then take the quiz before reading or listening to the bible resources. Each lesson is self-contained and includes all resources needed.

Step 3:  You should complete two lessons a day.  5 Days a week in order to complete the “45 Days to Read The Gospel Challenge in 45 days”.

There is no law that says you have to complete these lessons in 45 days. You are free to work at your own pace. Study the lesson and take the quiz in the morning, and later listen to or read the bible resources.

Overview of The Gospel of Luke

Apostle Luke, a Gentile and a physician, wrote this Gospel and the Book of Acts.  Luke’s work is assumed to be written in AD 60-62 during the time Paul was in jail.  His works were dedicated to Theophilus, a Roman dignitary.  Luke gives an ordered account of the events of Jesus’s life but not necessarily in order.  His primary research is based on eyewitnesses, disciples, and the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.

Luke knew the disciples personally.  He traveled with Paul most of the time. However, he also used other disciples’ work in his research, such as Mark’s work. A lot of Luke’s work included the Gospel of Mark. However, this Gospel gives many accounts of Jesus’s healing ministry because Luke was a physician himself.

Luke alone reported unusual circumstances surrounding the birth of John the Baptist and the annunciation to Mary.  He emphasized the central role of women, children, Gentiles, Samaritans, rich people, sinners, and outcasts in the life and ministry of Jesus Christ. Luke proposed to narrate the ministry of Jesus Christ, and Jesus Christ’s mission dedicated to the saving of sinners and his progression to the cross to become Savior of the World.

Summary of The Gospel According to Luke Chapter Nineteen: Know The Things That Make Your Peace.  My House is a House of Prayer for All Nations.

In Luke Chapter 19, Jesus demonstrates His compassion and authority through a series of powerful events. The chapter begins with the story of Zacchaeus, a wealthy tax collector who seeks out Jesus, inviting Him into his home. Through Zacchaeus’ humble reception of Jesus, repentance, and joyful confession, salvation comes to his household.

Following this, Jesus shares the parable of the Ten Minas, teaching about accountability and faithfulness. He emphasizes the principle that those who use their gifts wisely will be given more, while those who do not will lose what they have.

Jesus then cleanses the temple, driving out merchants and declaring that His house is to be a “House of Prayer” for all nations. The chapter concludes with Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem, where He prophesies the city’s future destruction because they failed to recognize the time of their visitation by the Savior. This lesson highlights themes of repentance, faithfulness, and spiritual awareness.

Reflection

When you have money, do you tithe (give to the church) or show kindness by helping others—such as paying a bill, forgiving a debt, or buying groceries—while sharing about Jesus and giving Him the glory? When was the last time you did this? This is not for judgment, but for reflection on 2022.

When was the last time you went to the house of the Lord to pray, repent, and thank Him for your salvation and His help in times of need?
