Words have incredible power to build up or tear down. James 4:11KJV encourages us to use our words with intention and purpose, choosing to speak life, encouragement, and respect towards others.
James 4:11 KJV “Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.”
By recognizing the damage caused by gossip and negativity, and choosing instead to uplift and build each other up, we can strengthen our relationships and foster a more positive and supportive environment.
Real-world example: Sarah had a habit of gossiping about others behind their backs. She realized that this negativity was not only damaging her relationships but also affecting her own well-being. She said something to someone and they replied. “I don’t believe you”. God does not approve, even if it is true. Do not put a stumbling block in someones path.
Romans 14:13 KJV “Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother’s way.”
Remembering James 4:11KJV, Sarah made a conscious effort to speak only words of love and encouragement. This transformation in her communication not only improved her relationships but also brought greater joy and fulfillment into her own life.
