God wants each one to teach one. You don’t have to be a scholar but you have to read the bible and study it. Teach your children correctly so they may be correct.

This author wants to express how important it is to speak to each other with a spirit of excellence when speaking the Word of God. For example, I was in court one day as a juror many years ago. I was appalled that at the end of the trial, a lawyer used a story from the bible to make a point. The first half of the story was identifiable but the second half was made up to support his argument. I could not believe the disrespect as this was done on purpose.
When telling a story from the bible, please tell the story accurately. Many people get scripture confused with slang or popular quotes. Don’t rewrite the bible. That is why it is important to get a bible with accurate translations because one word can change the meaning of a sentence.
My grandmother use to say, “that’s foolish talk or jail house preaching ” when people quote biblical references to support their view point and you would not recognize that reference because it is not in the bible at all. I have heard people quote scripture with the wrong source. They may say the Gospel of John and it was in the Book of Genesis. Again, we all make mistakes but make sure that is not a regular practice.
Someone may repeat something you said to help someone else. Then they are corrected and embarrassed because they trusted your information. They could possibly turn from the faith. Anti-Christians will use examples like that to make the Kingdom of God seem unimportant. When speaking God’s word, speak holy. In other words, refrain from cursing or using derogatory descriptions. Don’t preach or teach if you are under the influence.
Many years ago, I was on a train going home. A man was quoting scripture to everyone and it was clear he was high. He was holding on to a pole as not to fall as he drank from a brown paper bag. A lady leaned over and whispered to me, “Speaking God’s words with the devil’s tongue”.
I never forgot that. We all make mistakes but some mistakes turn people from the faith and could result in hardship. In addition, its not a good look.
